I’ve found some truly incredible authors over the many years that I have been reading. There’s a trend that I’ve seen recently on Bookstagram: “If they write it, I’ll read it”. Praising authors for their work is always a worthwhile endeavour, so here’s my list of authors whose work I’ll read no matter the genre.

Cassandra Clare

Cassandra Clare became my favourite author at 13 years old, when I read the Mortal Instruments series, and has remained my favourite ever since. I’ve read every single Shadowhunter Chronicles book, her middle-grade Magisterium series, and now her Sword Catcher series (I have yet to read the Ragpicker King but it is on my TBR). I adore her writing, which always feels like the perfect mix of emotional and funny, her characters who feel like close friends at this point (having grown up with many of them) and the world’s that she creates. The Last King of Faerie is my most anticipated read of this year and I can’t wait for it to come out in November!

Ali Hazelwood

I have read 90% of Ali Hazelwood’s books (I’m still catching up with her newest releases) and I have loved all of them. The humour in her books is by far my favourite element of her writing and her FMC’s are some of the most nuanced characters I have ever read in the romance genre. I adore so many of her books but Love, Theoretically is without a doubt my absolute favourite! Her romances always progress at a realistic pace, with banter that is to die for. There are so many reasons as to why Ali Hazelwood is my favourite romance author.

CE Ricci

I found CE Ricci this year and she quickly became one of my favourite authors. I ran through her Leighton U series and her Reckless Games series in the span of a month, while loving every minute of it. Her characters are beautifully human, they make mistakes and they learn from them, eventually getting the happy ending that they deserve. I adore the Leighton U series so so much and if I could read it all over again for the first time, I absolutely would. Caught Stealing and Fake Shot are top tier and I recommend them to everyone.

Taylor Jenkins Reid

I love Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books – The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is the first book of hers that I read and I fell absolutely in love with her writing (it has stayed a favourite book of mine ever since). Her books often feature complicated characters, who may not be very likable but grip the reader and make them root for them despite the mistakes they make. Since my first encounter with her writing, I’ve read several of her other books: Carrie Soto is Back, Malibu Rising, and Daisy Jones and the Six. I also can’t wait to read Atmosphere when I get around to it as I always know I will enjoy her books.

Madeline Miller

I’ve been a Madeline Miller fan ever since I read The Song of Achilles. I adore her prose, her novels are beautifully written and centre characters that feel truly authentic. I’ve read and re-read The Song of Achilles and each time it makes my heart ache. Circe is also one of the best books I’ve ever read – Circe is a powerful goddess in many ways, but she is also defiantly human in her actions and her emotions. Madeline Miller deserves all the hype that she receives and I truly do believe her books will become modern classics.

Ana Huang

I’ve spoken about Ana Huang a few times on this blog. I have absolutely adored the majority of her books, even though I haven’t liked some others. Despite that, I still devour everything and anything that she writes. There’s something about an Ana Huang book that feels like no other – the chemistry between her MC’s is often palpable and incomparable. King of Pride is one of my absolute favourite romance novels, and Isabella and Kai hold a special place in my heart.

C.S Pacat

C.S Pacat is another author that I found more recently. I found her Dark Rise series last year and fell in love with it, so much so that I included it in My 5 Star Reads of 2025. I have been waiting in anticipation for the third book ever since. Her Captive Prince Trilogy is honestly just as good, even though I will forever prefer the Dark Rise series. The plot twists in her books are some of the best I’ve ever witnessed, they succeed in shocking the reader while never feeling like they’re coming out of the blue. Her romances are also immaculate while never overshadowing the fantasy elements of the novel.

Nora Sakavic

My first encounter with Sakavic’s writing was through the All for the Game series which I had been meaning to read for years. I finally got around to it last year and it’s not an exaggeration to say that it changed my life! I didn’t know exactly what to expect when I went into the All for the Game series and it surprised me in so many ways – the characters were compelling and imperfect in the best way, the relationships were beautifully written and the found family aspect solidified it as a new favourite. The sixth book of the series is TBD for the moment, but I will be reading it the minute I can get my hands on it.
